"Indeed, this is Bush's "stratergy" - make the Palestinian terrorists make it clear that they are the ones who will never permit peace"Yep. And especially to force EUropean leaders to take an actual stand on peace vs. terrorism, rather than continue spouting platitudes about peace out of one side of their mouths, and aiding terrorists in the descruction of Israel out of the other.
Hamas' reaction was predicted. It was guaranteed they'd reneg on any peace deal they agreed to. The behavioral patterns are too well established. Everyone knows all they really want is the destruction of Israel. They're proving it, cause GW is moving them into position for a check, and ultimate checkmate.

Indeed. The PLO is a terrorist organization, and Yasser has always been the head of the snake. He's not a statesman, no matter how much anti-Semitic buddies like to pretend he is. He's a terrorist. Forever.

Before the year is out Sheikh Ahmed Yassin will have a "different understanding" of the roadmap and President Bush . . . I might add, so will PM Sharon.

While no big suprise, I thought I saw a headline two or three days ago that said Arafat was against the peace talks. I didn't get a chance to read the article. Did anyone out there happen to see it? I'd like to know what his "official" position is and how closely in resembles the Hamas "official" position. (Good ol' Jew hatin' being the real reason.)

Is Hammas not controlled by Iran?

Is Hammas not controlled by Iran? No, you've got it wrong. Hummus is controlled by Iran.
Come to think of it, it's likely that pretty soon Hamas will be hummus.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States denounced the militant Islamic group Hamas on Friday as an "enemy of peace" after the organization broke off talks on ending anti-Israeli violence.
White House spokesman Scott McClellan said, however, that President Bush's peace efforts would go on. He urged all parties in the region to dismantle the "infrastructure of terror."
"Hamas is an enemy of peace and we will continue working with all parties to try to achieve peace," McClellan said.

Looks as though the road mail has failed, no surprise. Not exactly. The roadmap is doing precisely what it was designed to do - to reveal those who stand in the way of peace.

'Before the year is out Sheikh Ahmed Yassin will have a "different understanding" of the roadmap and President Bush . . . I might add, so will PM Sharon'Possibly. However the President Bush is well aware of the terrorists' patterns of derailing any type of peace talks. He's even publically commented on it. It's part of the reason he won't deal with Yasser. In addition, Bush has repeatedly stated there will be no PA state until terrorism stops completely. I hope he keeps a tight reign on Powell this time around. Powell is far to enamored of the Pali propaganda.

"CLINTON SPEAK"No it isn't.
What will happen next is that Hamas will try and shove Yasser back into everyone's face as some kind of hero who'll save the Palistinian people from the evil Axis of Zion, thus undermining any chance of peace as well as Abbas' leadership. All the terrorist groups and their foreign handlers want their puppet Yasser back in power. It will go over in the WH like a lead balloon, and not even Powell is likely to fall for it.

"Bush has repeatedly stated there will be no PA state until terrorism stops completely"
So many just don't want to face the truth.
That was then. Before Bush betrayed the Israel and US.
This is now.
The road map forced on Israel states that there will be a Palestinian state in 2005. There are no ifs or buts. There are only goals. Goals which only Israel is going to be called to account.
That doesn't mean a Palestinian State will happen. But its aim, with blinders on, does cast an ugly shadow on the Administration.

"Before Bush betrayed the Israel and US."Betrayed? How? Israel is stuck in the promises of (sincere) Barak and (obviously insincere but public) Yasser....the Palis must now put actions to propaganda or the crap will hit the fan. I predict the crap will hit the fan, because of COURSE the Palis don't want 'freedom', which is the basis of ALL of their propaganda. They and their handlers want the destruction of Israel. The president is aware of this.
If, on the off chance the Palis do manage to earn - the operative word is EARN - their own state, it's only a matter of time before their terrorism begins again...but this time, they'll be a sovereign state constrained by international law, which the US will lead a coalition to enforce. As long as the West has bought into the Arab lie of Israel as the 'occupier' of Palestinian 'territory' an independent state subject to international law seems the only way to end the constant terrorism.
But hey, if the entire Arab world hasn't been LYING to the rest of the world all these years, the Palis will EMBRACE the alleged dream of a sovereign state subject to the same international laws as any other, right? And so will Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Egypt and Iran, right? (**don't hold your breath alert**)

Disarming Hamas and other gangs, would mean that he has to arrest himself and the PLO (who are also terrorist). The roadmap is something Bush made Sharon negotiate with terrorists. Its not about Abbas cracking down on terrorism. Abbas is second in command to a terrorist group himself - the PLO (which wants to destroy Israel).

The roadmap is doing precisely what it was designed to do - to reveal those who stand in the way of peace. How many times do we have to prove that? Can't anyone understand that terrorists are in power there and are supported? We had 10 years since Oslo to prove that (1993). Your saying Bush wants to prove it again? For what reason? This will bring more death and sadness to a nation (Jews) which has experienced this for hundreds of years.
