I don't know....Mike washes all his clothes in a large tub...his whites are no longer white..LOL..and he's wearing them out with all the scrubbing.

When my husband returned from Somalia I banned all of his clothing from the house because it was so dirty. I eventually had to throw it away. We had been told that the ground over in Somalia was so full of bacteria that it could cause people to get sick so I took it seriously.

I chuckled as I read this; because it reminds me of a scene in "Gone With The Wind". If you've ever seen it; you'll know what I mean. It was a scene where the O'Haras were hosting the returning Confederate troops when the war was almost over.

The scene was where "Mammy", their servant lady, was washing the soldiers uniforms in a big kettle. One of the young female characters objects to Mammy making her fiance, Frank, give her his uniform to put in the kettle. He's of course, hiding in a blanket tent until he can find something to change into.

The soldier's uniforms were very dirty and raggedy, and had lice on them. Anyway, the girl tells mammy she thought it was appalling how she was treating her Mr. Kennedy. Mammy said, very fiesty-like, something like: "You'd be a lot more humiliated if Mr. Frank's lice get on you!". Of course, this shuts up the young woman in a hurry, and she's standing there, pouting! It's one of the funniest moments in the film!
