Forgetting about the gay issue ... the point of this article seems to be that Granholm should run the state according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. John F. Kennedy had to disavow that position during his presidential campaign, in order to reassure nervous Protestants and Jews.

According to this group's logic, Catholic politicians would have been compelled to vote against the war with Iraq, since the Pope condemned it.

Granholm is a politician, not a bishop. If Catholic elected officials conducted themselves the way this group wants, there would be fewer Catholic elected officials.

Regardless of one's religious belief:

1. citizens should be aware of the whacked, perverted out-of-touch ideas of the governess

2. citizens should be aware that the governess consistently lies about being a faithful Catholic (lying about something so important indicates that she will lie about anything)

Your logic and facts are off today.

1. Catholics do not have to follow the pope's views or preachings - they need only follow authoritative church teaching that are procalimed to be binding upon all Catholics (whether a particular war is just is never a bidning teaching)

2. the pope did not per se condemn the war
