They have to be calculating a future wave due to the highschool/daycare exposure and the kids breaking quarantine...there will be more cases shortly.

"SARS on the wane,...officials say" Of course it is. Pneumonia kills FAR more people than SARS has, and Ebola is FAR more infectious. Yet these diseases go through cycles without runaway effects to wipe out the Earth's humans (much to the dismay of greenies).
