The United States is losing a propaganda war for the hearts and minds of millions of Arabs spurred by the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and the Pentagon, according to a survey of 20 nations and Palestinians that was released yesterday.
The survey, conducted by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, suggests al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden inspires more confidence than President Bush across much of the Arab and Muslim world. It also shows a further slump in public perceptions of the United States in the past year around the globe, with favorable ratings as low as 1 percent in Jordan and areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
< SNIP >
Former Clinton administration Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who chairs the Global Attitudes project, labeled the results depressing and troubling: "Something I thought I'd never ever see is the fear of American power."

They don't need to warm up to us, they need to FEAR us. And I bet they are fearing us more now, than before the war.

And we care what Arabs think about the US because...?

We saw the "hearts and minds" of Muslims after 9-11, so I could care less whether they like us or not. Just as long as they keep their damned terrorists and murdering cultists away from us, they can think whatever they want to.

Leave it to Clinton's Albright to spew such nonsense!
I agree. FEAR THIS! A good ol' Texas butt whoopin'.

One of the editorialists at the Wall Street Journal referred to Madeline Albright as, "...a rubber duck in a straw hat". Don't know why, perhaps it is the vivid picture that results whenever her name is mentioned, but that description has stuck in my mind.
Quite appropriate, don't you agree?

Come to think of it, it makes sense.
Might just be worse than "It's a Small World" stuck in your head.

Why would a society known for being lazy, insular, unproductive, with out civil institutions of any kind, and cowardly, warm up to its polar opposite, America?

If they are successful in hitting us again, they will know fear for real. It won't be the armed forces of the U.S. this time, but the armed populace of the U.S. that gets after every muslim in the U.S.A.

I'm not warming up to them ,either. Their religion should be declared a cult in the U.S.A and all Muslimes should be deported.
Don't know about anyone else, but I would feel a whole lot safer.
Uh Oh! Did I just commit a ,"Hate Crime"?

These guys at Pew [Research] Global must be rabid leftist. All I see from them is poo poo.

They don't strike me as a particularly loving people at the moment. Not being loved by everybody used to bother me, but then I hit puberty. I'd recommend that for liberals everywhere.
