Oh my godness..... I just read the Artikel, written in German in the FAZ!. The German translation ist very harsch, almost brutal compared to the Engl. original.
I don't know, wich one is the correct on.
Did somebody translated wrong, and this done on purpose???!!!

I'm not a translator, but I took German forever and still read it fairly well. I'd like to see the translation myself.
