Can anyone help me out? About 6 mos. before the 2000 election, I took an online test with questions on issues. When I finished, it told me who my "candidate" was. After being raised (and registered) Democrat, I find out those aren't my views at all. I would like to pass a similar test onto my parents, who still believe that "Democrats are for the little people, and Republicans are only for big business."
Thanks for your help. Be nice. At least I wised up - maybe we can help others, who are living with what they THINK is the Democratic view.

,,, as it happens, I can't assist you with that particular test. I'm a New Zealander, living in New Zealand. This ant and grasshopper deal has done the rounds here and been worked into our own local version. Mainstream left here is "Labour" and mainstream right is "National". Labour has gone way left of what it once was. Older voters who have always voted Labour stick to it and don't bother keeping up with policy shifts because that's the way they've always voted and National is for the rich and/or the farmers.
This is exactly the same deal that you're finding. Labour relies heavily on this. It's up to grassroots membership to push the message.
