The poor libs! You gotta' love 'em. They wear their desperation for all to see.

One thing I've noticed in life. When X repeatedly accuses Y of something, and not the reverse, you have a precise look at who/what X is. If X calls Y a liar repeatedly, then it's X who is the liar and not Y.

The technique is called mirroring. It works for groups as well as individuals.

Another example: Suppose someone posts something to this group that's offensive. He says, "You all are a bunch of hypocrites, liars.....you all should be taken out back and shot".

Using mirroring, we now know that the writer is a hypocrite, a liar, and probably should be taken out back and shot.

That's funny. I read or heard somewhere that one of the last acts of desperation of people who have nothing to stand on is to blame another for the very acts you are guilty of. I guess that is mirroring. Now I know. Too bad the Dems don't.

Eight years of Republican payback isn't enough to begin to erase from memory the corruption of the past "two little piggies" in the White House.

comparing Bush to Bill Clinton: the latter of whom, Milbank said, "fibbed"committed perjury about his "personal indiscretions."

"Bush's lies are the most serious kinds of lies that a public official can be involved in," says one Democratic strategist. "It's far more important than committing perjury under oath."

I think my head is going to explode.

Nice article. Good job of demolishing the real liars, with names, places in which the lies appeared, and facts all clearly laid out.

The only notable omission is that York fails to point out that clinton repeatedly lied under oath, which took the seriousness of his lies to a whole new level: namely, felonious perjury.

Good article, but it highlights the efficacy of the weapon that the leftist bring to bear against their enemies... the manipulation of facts. A good existentialists knows that facts are merely one's perception of reality. Alter that perception, and viola, one has reality. Bury it in complexity (just in case) and you have a nearly perfect lie. A good press lie need only be around for a couple of weeks for a lefty minion dolt to spread it around via email, as fact. Create enough of these ironic mistruths about others integrity and you (if your a diligent lefty) have successfully woven a shroud of doubt concerning otherwise good people... Christians, congressman, local organizations, supreme court justices, radio personalities, authors, candidates, political parties, economic systems, businessman, corporations, corporations, corporations, presidents, even nations.

The difference with mr. Clinton was that he was a petty pathologic lier. He lied about getting his hand caught in a cookie jar even when confronted with a photo of the act in progress. A man who would lie about the pettiest of infractions, cannot be trusted to tell the truth about anything.

As evidenced by Al Franken's quivering lip the other night, the Liberals are clearly losing their grip on reality, as they can barely contain their anger at having no control over any branch of government.

Combine that anger with a vow of revenge over what was done to Clinton, and you have is a Media Witch Hunt of mass proportions. We should expect only more of the same, until the Liberals loose so badly in the next election that they decide it is time to play nice.

Although Bush will clearly win reelection, I expect the next two years to be the ugliest politics in the history of America. The Liberal media is in it's death throws and nothing will be out of bounds.

When Little Tommy threw his tantrum (and later, when Hillary threw hers), all I could think about was the old saw:
"The last refuge of a scoundrel is his sacred honor."

I read a great example of this on Bill Whittle's blog, www.ejectejecteject.com where he wrote:

"Misdirection

Now to show you how this works in the real world, I need to tell you a story about a real man named Robert Wayne Jernigan. I guarantee you this story will make you very angry, but this is the kind of world we live in today.

Robert Wayne Jernigan is now 28 years old. People who knew him said he was quiet, somewhat stand-offish. He was not widely liked in high school.

Four years ago, a witness reported seeing Jernigan enter a building in a remote suburb of Dallas with an axe. Four people were found dead at the scene, including a nine year old girl. No charges were filed. Less than two days later, Jernigan turned up again, this time at the scene of a suspicious fire in a day care center. Miraculously, no one was injured. But it was just a matter of time.

During the next several weeks, it is possible to place Jernigan at the scene of no less than thirteen suspicious fires. Eleven people died. Eyewitnesses were unshakable in their determination that Jernigan had been on the scene. And yet the police did nothing.

Jernigan had long been fascinated with fire. A search of his apartment revealed fireman-related magazines, posters and memorabilia. Despite the deaths of fifteen people, despite repeated eyewitness accounts and photographic evidence placing Jernigan at these fires, no criminal charges were ever filed against Robert Wayne Jernigan. He remains a free man to this day.

And rightfully so. Because Robert Wayne Jernigan is an ordinary fireman for the Dallas Fire Department.* He is not a serial arsonist at all.

Now re-read the previous paragraphs and tell me where I lied.

Everything I told you was factually true. But the spin, the context, the misdirection… The press always reports serial killers with all three names – Robert Wayne Jernigan sounds a hell of a lot more ominous than Bobby Jernigan. Quiet, stand-offish, not widely liked – instant psychopath, if you read the papers. Entered the building with an axe – oooh! That ought to get the blood boiling. That the people had died from smoke inhalation I decided was irrelevant to the story…

And so on. And so on."

The left pulls this crap all the time ... see Maureen Dowd's creative use of '...' when quoting the President.

The news flash of this story is that liberals are admitting that Clinton lied! Think of this: They are trying to damn Bush by saying he's as big a liar as Clinton! (According to Byron York.)

THE CLINTON STANDARD

In a March 21, 1995, Rose Garden speech on violence against women, President Clinton said, "The FBI estimates that a woman is beaten in this country once every twelve seconds." The statistic was wrong, and the White House retracted it within hours. There were a few newspaper articles about the numbers, and the story disappeared.

They didn't realize that he meant HIM personally, that was more like one woman every 12 minutes. Clinton was a lying, raping thief and the left thinks he is better than any other president UGH! Maybe the best of Democratic presidents.

I have also heard of this technique as "projection" - as in projecting your own failings and peccadillos onto your opponent.
Whatever respect (or at least tolerance) I had for liberals is officially dead now. Lately I have been getting my jollies by baiting leftists and then verbally b!tch-slapping them. It isn't exactly socially responsible, but it beats actually BEATING the dogsh!t out of them.

"Such accusations are risky — after all, the search for Iraqi weapons is ongoing, and any day might bring a significant discovery, or evidence that weapons have been destroyed."

I'll bet the farm that when we do find WMDs there won't be any apology from the Left for making such premature accusations against our President. It has been proven that the word "apology" is not in the Left's dictionary.
