As Scott Peterson counts the days to next moths perliminary hearing, ABC News has obtained new details on the defense team strategy and what is behind the so-called satanic cult theory.
The details stem from a Modesto Police report that outlines a conversation that took place between a rape couselor and police.
The report reveals that a rape crisis counselor told investigators about a woman who said she was attacked in the area a week before the young pregnant woman went missing.
The counselor told police of the victim just days after Laci Peterson disappeared on Christmas Eve.
The counselor told police the woman she helped said she had been attacked on December 18, by men carrying out some sort of ritual.
The rape coounselor said the woman explained that that the man bragged they would murder someone Christmas Day.

Is there a betting pool on how long the jury will stay before returning with a guilty verdict?

Is Geragos or his investigators going to show up on the door of a rape victim--and will he drag this rape victim into court to testify?

Garagos has no choice but to make the rape victim testify..his whole case is built around it!

This is not even relevant to the case. Geragos should eb thrown in jail for making a mockery of this trial.
To: ewing
I'm praying for the gag order to be issued post haste.

The defense is taking advantage the hundreds and hundreds of hours cable TV will use on this case.
They just need one nitwit on the jury to buy into their story.

I think it scheduled for next week

I haven't been following the Peterson threads. Just curious, but does anyone think the guy may be innocent? Is this really a slam dunk?

From what has been leaking out of the Grand Jury room through the tabloids, there is not a lot of blood in the house/kitchen/murder scene.(2-3 samples?)
Difficult to get a slam dunk unless the concrete plaster on the bodies matches the stuff in Scott's pickup

A gag order won't stop stuff like this; in fact, it will more than likely intensify it.

I don't think it's as slam dunk as the prosecution would have us believe. They key will be the physical evidence. If they can definitively tie Peterson to the murder, a guilty verdict is prohibitive. But if they have to convict him circumstantially, all bets are off.
To: Howlin
Could be, just shows Garagos is willing to go to nay lenghts to get this creep off.

Especially on Murder with special circumstance..but the prosecution could be holding a lot more in terms of evidence that we don't know about.
