I bet it will be Cyril Wecht.

......."sounds just like he sounded in the OJ case......."
The jury won't be able to understand half of what he says. Of what I can understand, the baby wrapped/taped in paper is my favorite. Definitely a defense thing!

Scott's income as a fertilizer salesman was around 60,000 per year. Remember 25,000 was spent on the country club membership and laci was not working. I'll bet he depended a good deal on Mom and Dad. Imagine their car payments alone were 5000 a year.

"......he should be able speak a lot better English!!"
On the same page with you CO!

I like him. He's always been pretty clear from the beginning that Laci was buried at sea attached to weights!

When Henry Lee the other night on TV speculated that the tape around Connor's neck could be there because it had been used to hold the newspaper he had been wrapped in (said it would have melted in the water), I was flabbergasted that this "expert" would say such a thing w/out a scintilla of evidence) Even if it were speculative, it seemed rather bizarre.
I posted then that he was undoubtedly trying out for a job w/the defense. His most recent comment posted above cinches it IMO. Look for Geragos to use Lee's name recognition and expertise to bolster his case.

I like Dr. Wecht, too. Last year, he was asked to testify for the defense in another case. He flew to California and examined the evidence, then flew home after informing the defense that he didn't agree with their theory and wouldn't testify for them.

That's CREDIBILITY!!

Now that would be something..wouldn't he have to disclose WHEN he was hired officially??? I hope they try to pull some kind of crap like that! It would be right up MG's sleeve, wouldn't it? His bag of tricks so to speak....and Lee is VERY expensive!

Remember during the Simpson trial the Prosecutor asked Dr. Baden what he was being paid? It was quite a tense moment!! Something like $1,000.00/hr

Jackie Dr. Lee is almost "Impossible" to follow. You just grab certain words and try to make them make sense. It's PATHETIC!!

Thanks, QJ!
I had vaguely recalled the $60K but couldn't put my finger on the "who" or the "where". As the senior moments get more frequent I've learned to double-check.
So let's see......after taxes he probably saw....$45K maybe? And from that we deduct the country club of $25K and the car payments of $5K.....and that leaves $15K for everything else? Including housepayments/life insurance/food/gas/incidentals?
I don't think so, Ollie!

Grrrr! LOL.
I frankly think it works to the defense's advantage in muddying the waters. Can the jury ask for testimony to be repeated until they understand it?
Personally, I think 'experts' on either side should be able to present coherent testimony. If the courts can't require that, get an interpreter. Lee isn't even a good guest on TV!
To: redlipstick
I just saw Dr Henry Lee on Court TV. When asked if he has been hired as an expert witness in the Peterson case, he answers, "I cannot say." So, of course he has.
Someone posted an article on Lee before I left on vacation. In it he is quoted as saying, in a speech, that he's working on the case but can't say anything. He said something along the lines of "I know you all want to know who did it, but I can't say". Several people here commented on how inappropriate his tone was. Then I read yesterday an article that referred to him and it said he was not involved. I wondered about the discrepancy since my first reference came out of his own mouth!
I do not care for the coy tack he seems to be taking and haven't respected him since his misleading OJ testimony.
It has to be for the defense.
To: windchime
I still remember him in the OJ trial demonstrating the 'BLUH SPATTR EWIDUNCE" Crap it was terrible. But that was One dumb Jury. Hopefully, some intelligent people can be gathered this time. I think the Guy is WAAY overpaid for his Testimony.

He's made up that newspaper wrapped around Conner story out of thin air. He has said, "someone need to examine baby skin, find paper residue."
Excuse me? Lord knows I'm no forensic pathologist, but wouldn't any paper residue - if it even existed - have been washed off of the baby's skin during the time in the water?
To: redlipstick
NO KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAAAWWWWDDD. I'm gonna explode.
