Transcript of Gov. Bob Wise's (D) E-Mails to Lover
Charleston Daily Mail ^ | 6/2/03

Posted on 06/03/2003 12:31:05 AM PDT by LdSentinal

The following are transcripts of some of the 541 e-mails exchanged between Gov. Bob Wise and Angela Mascia-Frye. The messages were obtained by the Daily Mail through a Freedom of Information Act request.

July 5, 2002: Mascia-Frye: Governor...You are the best Governor ever!! Wise: ...And thanks for saying I’m the best gov’r. Actually, I am the only one who keeps the same crazy e-mail hours that you do.

July 7, 2002 Wise: ...probably the best way is to leave a message on my cell which is ***blacked out*** Mascia-Frye: Thank you for your cell phone number. I won’t call you unless it’s absolutely necessary (life or death situation...).

July 15, 2002 Mascia-Frye: How is Idaho? Is the G-convention interesting? What is Idaho known for besides the delicious potatoes? I hope to meet you on the Internet highway tonight. Do you have the AOL instant messenger? Enjoy Idaho!!! Wise: Reporting from Idaho. As hard as it is to believe, this place really is built around the potato — including the bottle of Blue Ice vodka that showed up in our room. It’s a local product. ... Interestingly, my son and I were walking down a Boise street tonight and passed the Basque Center. Tell me if I need to do some boning up on Basque history and protocol.

After a while of deliberation, I decided to post this "article." Considering these are private e-mails between two people, I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do. If not, please let me know.

If a person is using publicly owned equipment and resources, they can not really have an expectation of privacy.

What is teh point ... what did you seek to accomplish with this thread? Wise is Gov. where? Is his e-mail any of our business?

I think the Daily Mail is ommitting most of the best emails. I can't believe that in all the emails they must have sent to each other there were no references to sex.

I don't see anything incriminating here. Looks like two likeable people. As a matter of fact it's hard to believe that they're 'Rats, as they seem intelligent and knowledgeable. I guess Wise is having an affair with this babe, but it all looks pretty innocent compared to Clinton.

I think they're in West VA.

West Virginia. I thought that the e-mails maybe of interest to understand how they helped contribue to his plummeting approval ratings.

Nevertheless, your comment is noted.

Wise is a Rat governor in an adultery scandal, and his emails to his mistress have been released to the public. They are NOT private, they are government property, and thus public property.

Wise's adultery -- which he admitted -- and these emails are now the center of his upcoming reelection battle. I think it's reasonable to think that published information about a public scandal impacting a state's election is appropriate material to disseminate.

What do you think now that you know the posish?

Regardless of his party (if Phil Bredesen was in the same mosh, I'd say the same), adultery and infidelity are issues that speak to character. These e-mail desreve to be seen as evidence of his character (or lack thereof). It is fair for the voters to have all the data they require to choosea governor. I said the same of the degenerate x42 with the deviant behavior he exhibited in MY OVAL OFFICE.

Unless there is a betrayal of public trust involved... it's nobody else's business.

Digging through peoples' personal lives is something the Clintons do, not us. We don't need to because we're right on reality. So in the future... I recommend that you don't post this stuff, it makes us look worse than him.

Did you think that this tactic was legit when Hitlery was doing it to Rudy Guiliani?

In a statement May 12, Wise admitted to having been "unfaithful to my family." Numerous media accounts have linked the deer-jerky-loving Democrat to Mascia-Frye, although neither Wise nor Mascia-Frye, whose husband filed for divorce in April, has commented on their relationship. The e-mails, which were sent at all hours of the day over a period of several months this year and last, entered the public domain May 22 after several West Virginia media outlets filed Freedom of Information Act requests.

The governor is carrying on an affair with a West Virginia employee using state facilities, state communications, and state time. But you think it's nobody's business but his own. Unbelievable.

Did you also know that the mistress's husband has since filed for divorce? The governor is a homewrecker, destroying West Virginia families personally and you don't think it's anyone's business but his own?

Now where have we heard that argument before? And the liberals turned right around and said Bill Bennett's gambling was the public's business. Its funny who has the right to claim privacy.

You're going to have to explain your comment. What argument have you heard before? What expectations of privacy does Bill Bennett have? Was information on his gambling ($ amts & so forth) public property, lawfully obtained, or was it leaked by those wishing to harm him?

You know as well I do Republicans get nailed for minor transgressions whereas Democrats are allowed to walk on the big sins. We've heard the Democrats use privacy as an argument to to shield immoral and even illegal behavior. Bill Bennett has a right of privacy that's to be expected with a private citizen. As a public official, West Virginia's Lieutenant Governor has none. So you can see there's a double standard at work here.

Okay, I get your point now; it wasn't clear previously what direction you were coming from. I agree that government officials should uphold and be held to a high standard, including one of personal morality, especially for elected officials who frequently campaign as family men.

Note that Wise is the Governor, even, not just Lt Gov.
