More Islamist terror fronts busted
Worse than the KKK: Hamas terrorists receive cash and material support from US-based groups. As FBI Director Robert Mueller continues to pander to radical Islamist groups, federal agencies - including his own - continue their crackdown on Muslim terrorist fronts.
In a coordinated move with the British government, the US Treasury Department ordered the blockage of accounts of the Al-Aqsa Foundation, alleged to be funding Hamas suicide bombers.
The Wall Street Journal reports that FBI agents have apprehended a figure in the Muslim Students Association (MSA) who used the national campus-based group as "cover for a secret career supporting terrorism."
"The writings of radical anti-Western Muslim thinkers are promoted on many MSA-chapter sites," the Journal reports. "MSA chapters also have helped raise money for Muslim charities now accused by the U.S. government of serving as fronts for financing terrorism abroad. Some MSA members receive financial support from Saudi Arabia, which for decades has tried to inculcate young people with a fundamentalist and intolerant version of Islam."
The case against the MSA suspect, according to the Journal, "raises difficult questions about Muslim students who espouse extremist views, or support those who do." It also raises difficult questions for FBI Director Mueller, who under apparent pressure from White House political operatives, persists in courting individuals and organizations publicly identified as supporters of terrorists.
As columnist Cal Thomas recently noted, the terrorists are using America's democratic institutions as instruments of attack.

I don't get it.... The FBI apprehends a "figure" in the MSA and the Treasury department freezes their assets and it's considered pandering?
Gaffney needs to check his Meds

One of the biggest groups that's connected with terrorism but gets away with being a so-called moderate, civil rights organization is CAIR. Council on American Islamic Relations. You'll see their spokespeople on TV all the time, asked by ignorant TV producers to represent the "moderate, American Muslim" viewpoint. CAIR has been at the White House, Mueller has spoken at an event they sponsored. This seems to me like stupidity.

I see what you mean, and I think Gaffney's point may have been lost because he is referring to previous reports he's written about Mueller's "pandering." Mueller's been playing up to radical groups since 9/11. At first, I thought he was just ignorant, now it seems like some P.C. idea. Anyway, I believe that without the background on Mueller (and others) the first line of this article may not seem sensible considering what the story is about.

The problem with a lot of these groups is that our Constitution and our laws have this thing against arresting people and seizing their asset's before there is enough evidence of criminal activity. In order to get an arrest warrant and a siesure of assets from a judge it requires proof of a crime. Both of these require an investigation.

I know lots of people around here believe the FBI is pandering to terrorist just because they're invited to a speach given to a group of muslims. Sometimes that's the best way to find out more about them. The paranoia coming from Gaffney is quite rediculous, I wonder if Gaffney is aware of the security measures when he speaks to the Muslim groups?
Personally I have always felt your keep your friends close and your enemies closer

If you don't think calling an arrest and seisure of assets of an accused supporter of terrorism "Pandering" isn't a stretch.... I guess you think we were pandering to Saddam as well.

What's the stretch? Mueller's pandering is legendary.
It doesn't mean, however, that some of his foot-soldiers are not doing some good work.

Do you read English? The bust and the pandering are differentiated in Para 2.

I'm not sure if you have ever been to a speech given by a person like Mueller or not, but the security level is unbelievable. In order to enter a building where one of these speeches are given, you must provide two forms of identification, and most of these events require pre-registration if you are with a group, (Ticket Sales).
I find it quite absurd to claim the FBI is pandering to Muslim terroist groups just because some of them who attend these speeches might be on a watch list. Personally I feel it's just what you want to do in order to find out more about them and the members who registered as guest of those groups.
Gaffney must be one of those chicken sh*ts who thinks it's best to ignore those groups who might be suspected of being a terrorist activity. I say invite them often and invite all of their members, At least then we might be able to assemble a list of attands the meetings.
IMHO Gaffney is just someone looking for boogy men to run from

Cal Thomas recently noted, the terrorists are using America's democratic institutions as instruments of attack
here is the story in case you missed it...
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/calthomas/ct20030520.shtml Suppose our enemies have invaded the United States through immigration for the express purpose of organizing themselves politically? Suppose they present themselves as benign and seek to register voters, becoming politically active in order to elect their people to office and change U.S. policy in the Middle East?
What if their intentions are the eventual destruction of this nation through its democratic processes and the imposition of a theocratic state? Would that be enough to get our attention?

The reason the current administration does this is because they don't want the sheeple to know that there's a holy war going on.
It's a fairly effective strategy. Most sheeple don't know that there's a holy war going on.
To: BenR2
Considering that thousands of suspected terrorist have been rounded up, and millions of dollars of assets have been frozen as well as scores of muslim foundations shut down, this is not what I call pandering. And I will bet a bundle that MSA and Al Aqsa don't feel like they have been pandered to right now!
There is more than one way to skin a cat, and if it means inviting members of these terroist groups to town hall meetings in order to identify them and then investigate them, I'm all for it.
All this finger pointing by morons like Gaffney who wouldn't know a terrorist from a J-Walker is not helping a bit.
I say just look at how many terrorist attacks we have suffered since 9/11 (ZERO) compared to all the arresst and seisures of these terrorist supporting foundations here in the States.
