That morning was very special to me. Exactly when the shootout was occurring, I was a few miles to the south giving birth to my second son.
I thought it was so weird that the same news account seemed to be on all the hospital TVs for hours. Only later did I find out what had been going on; I was too out of it at the time. I saw the show and noted an old college friend in the part of the gun salesman.

Without a viable Manchurian Candidate this will do in a pinch.

...Thanks for sharing your Shootout
...KODAK MINUTES with us.
More KODAK MINUTES =
...Just 2 weeeks before the North Hollywood Bank Shootout in February 1997 the 2 Shooters came into my Steamship Company Auto Lot to pick up a car they had shipped in from Hawaii.
...They were just smoldering when they had to wait their turn to be processed out with their car like everybody else, and it was busy.
...My job as the Supervisor there was to neutralize what to me was an obviously potential threat to US with these 2 Customers. T'was then that my experience being a Santa Claus for 1,000's at Christmastime came in real handy.
...I got up real close and personal with them, treating them with the warmth and cheerfulness of a Santa Claus, while frequently checking on how the Process was going on ahead of them and then updating them. It at least kept them begrudingly still, in line.
...After about 22 MINUTES they were gone with their Car after which I turned to my unaware Staff and told them that in all my 3 decades there ..if anyone was capable of going out into the trunk of their car and bringing Machine Guns back in on US ..it was these 2 Angry Customers.
...The rest is History and...
..."44 MINUTES"
All this I will NEVER FORGET.
