Are you thinking about Egypt? What you see today is not Egyptian, but Arabic. Are you thinking about Iran, as in Elam? Not what's going on today in Iran. Again, quite Islamic.

Not that Jews haven't absorbed many customs from the different places they have lived, but I'm simply talking about a sacred text, a system of values, a language, a religion, etc., that has existed continuously.

If you're think of the land of the Hindus, their texts are not older. The texts only SAY they are older. Empirical evidence is absent. If you're thinking of China, you may have to go outside a specific religious culture, and you may indeed find a culture that is old. How much of it is practiced today, uninterrupted from its beginnings, is a different issue.

So what ARE you thinking of? This is hard to discuss without talking about dating, texts, archeology, even carbon dating. Do you want to go there?
