AIT--WOW! A first hand report from the front lines! Thanks so much--this was very informative! Stay safe!
I have to confess: when I read about the NK name "Panmungak", my mind focused on the last syllable "GAK"--and all I could hear was the little green men from "Mars Attacks" yelling "GAK!GAK!GAK!GAK!"!!

told him (as I believe many Freepers might also say), 'thanks for the job done here and keep a good eye on those sons of bitches just north of here'. He diplomatically did not answer except perhaps to offer a smile and a nod. Great report - as always - and thanks for letting one of our troops know we appreciate them and what they're doing for us.

kahasamnida, adashi, as they say on the peninsula...
I've tried to keep on eye on the region since I left in 2000...the report is appreciated.

"Anytime"
Not to nit-pick... but if got the tea leaves read right, there could be a time in the not too distant future where that DMZ no longer exists and the last major DMZ related to the Cold War falls.
The other is Cuba.
Free NK
Free Cuba!
Go GW!

you probably have a point there. AAR, they are in the midst of their gasping last breaths, but they still have the potential to cause a lot of serious ruckus, BIG TIME.

tell me about it. I drove by some Korean dogs (about fifty) pent up and barking loudly in a large pen constructed for them prior to them ending up in soup in the nearby town of Chorlwon. pretty sad. you could hear them in the nearby down barking and yelping even near midnight (not to mention some brief machine gun fire near the DMZ several hours earlier).
