Without an Arab change of heart any Palestine state will only mean a state of terror.
Logic and love seem to have no effect on the Arab heart,
perhaps it will take terror to change it.
I thought he did a nice job differentiating between the
ability of Israelis to accept a palestinian state, and
palestinians in not accepting Israel.

Talk about a broadside body slam against the body politic of the Arab.
From a subcontinental muslim ensconsed in California.

Off topic but hey....It's not the SiberiaAlaska pipeline we've bandied about, but sweet if true.
Caveat Emptor --
DEBKA-Net-Weekly 111 Revealed: Bush offer of US backing for ambitious Russian $4.5b Murmansk oil pipeline project to bring Russian crude across Arctic to Americas East Coast. Offer cements renewed Bush-Putin strategic partnership forged in St. Petersburg Sunday.

If Mecca/Medina were nuked it would take the wind out of their sails. A newly humble and chastened Islam would emerge. Until then we're all just wasting time with these relentless lunatic Jihadists and psychos. They are impervious to reason when they know they have demographics on their side.

Check this out.

(The writer is editor-in-chief of Pakistan Today, a California-based weekly newspaper, and president of Council for Democracy and Tolerance.)I have the feeling that Mr. Sayyed wouldn't or couldn't say these things if he was still in Pakistan.
Well written and logical essay, by the way. One hopes President Bush reads it or hears about it.

"Today's Arab personality is composed of a number of ingredients, a) a false sense of betrayal b) a false sense of being oppressed, c) manipulated holy scripts d) A false sense of being wronged and e) a burning desire to get even with the world that has "imposed Jews on them."
Devastating. And, in general, we've bought all these points and they now reign as conventional wisdom.

He had to leave Pakistan. Saying things like this there was the reason why. Even Musharraf couldn't or didn't want to ensure his safety.
Without men like these, what hope is there for democracy and secularism in the jihadi world if individuals like him have to flee for their lives.

They discussed that pipeline on the Batchelor & Alexander show last night. They had the same take on it that you do.

I was wondering how this guy had the guts to write this-- then I saw that the paper is in CA.

This pipeline makes sense for Europe and our NE states.

Hard to see how the Arab psyche can totally accept the presence of Israel. Ever. Unless persuaded by Force Majeure.

Yes, Marmansk is rebuilding to suit super tankers not battle ships....much larger. Russian to US transit, 2 weeks.
