On a rainy Friday in early May, 200 members of the Log Cabin Republicans200 WOW!!!
I'm sure President Bush will "bend right over" of 200 gay "republicans".

If they call themselves republicans voting against them is voting for Hillary.

I think the name Log Cabin Republicans comes from someone putting their log in someone else's cabin.

Leave it to the NY Times to run an article that points out "divisions" in the Republican Party, as if we were eating our own.
In the meantime, the NY Times refuses to run ANY articles that point out that unions are fighting with environmentalists over the future of the Democratic Party (re: jobs versus eco-nonsense), or that highlight the rift in the Democratic Party with regard to Black families and school vouchers versus the Teachers Unions position AGAINST school vouchers.
Methinks far more than 200 Democrats are at war on those fronts, yet we hear NARY A WORD from the NY Slimes on those contentious subjects.
No media bias, indeed...

"I'm sure President Bush will "bend right over" of 200 gay "republicans" I'm not laughing - he still hasn't come out against gay mairrage, homosexual adoptions, and a ton of other black/white, night/day moral issues.
Bush is weak in this area IMHO.

In Pittsburgh, my hometown, there is no shortage of
Democrats who aren't fond of what goes on in the "Log Cabin" either.
I'm sure if the NYT looked hard enough, it could find similar Dems in NYC.

"The president," said Scott McClellan, a White House spokesman, "believes strongly that one of the roles of a leader is to bring people together around shared priorities."

There are people with whom, for serious reasons, I do not wish to be brought together and with whom I share no priorities.

That's why you are where you are, and President Bush is leader of the free world.

I tend to agree with you.
Stating that gays make up only 2 or 3 percent of the electorate is missing the big picture.
Most swing voters will not vote for anyone perceived to be stridently anti-gay, the same way that most swing voters will not vote for anyone perceived to be vocally anti-Semite.
Yes, Jewish voters are only a small percentage of the total electorate, (2 or 3 percent?), but just like gays, they command enough sympathy from the rest of the electorate to make it difficult for anti-Semites to be elected to office.
Most of the people watching Will and Grace or the MTV three-way lesbian kisses are not gay, but straight people who have grown tolerant of gays.
Speaking as a Gen-Xer, I will have a hard time to find any of my friends who subscribe to the harsh anti-gay rhetoric frequently posted on this board. We left all that behind in high school.

Make the tent big enough, and the next thing you know, youve got a regular circus.
