For that matter, what about Eve? Why does the author think she was blonde? Because she was a temptress? If that counts as a reason, next thing you know someone's going to try telling us she was 15 at the time, had large breasts, made lots of eye contact, and could swallow a pickle whole.

My husband and daughter have VERY VERY blonde hair. My daughter is 20 and her hair is almost white. She is gorgeous. Both my husband and my daughter are very smart, too. He is a chemical engineer and brilliant. She is majoring in engineering because Psysics and Calculus come easy to her. I think they are both just gorgeous and fantastic. So are my two sons, one is redhead and one is strawberry blonde. We do notice their is a lot of mystique about blonde adults.

A famous bleached blonde was Marilyn Monroe. We found her grave when we lived in Los Angeles last year. Someone had just placed a bouquet there. She still has great mystique.

Light, and lightness, have always been associated with goodness and power....and Dark, and darkness, associated with evil and lesser power. Probably initially had to do with the dangers of night, the relative security of daytime. It's also Biblical.

For a work ranging from 360BC to the present, Pitman's ability to create a coherent and flowing narrative is commendable ... As she says in the afterword, the topic of blonde hair has not previously been awarded much academic attention.
