Hmmm... let's see - the deed was in Scott and Laci Peterson's Name. When one dies, the title transfers (if I read that right) to the one still alive, therefore the house belongs soley to Scott Peterson, so no, Laci's family had no legal right to enter that home and start removing items...

The house is in Scott's name - he owns it *shrug*

I can completely understand where the family is coming form though. Let the civil attorney's settle it, although, I would think that the way Laci's family went about it, that it leaves them more open to civil legal trouble.

I have heard rumors that Scott has signed it over to them in return for their financial aid for his legal bills. Unsubstantiated.
