In fact, there are relatively few rich people in this country. Only 2 percent of taxpayers earn more than $200,000 a year. While this group accounts for 27 percent of individual income, it already bears 46 percent of the nation's total income tax burden. How much more can you soak them? I would be afraid of the answer to that question, they might just want ALL of it.

The Democrats think something is wrong with becoming wealthy. In the long run, I think their approach paradoxically will lead to smaller government. If you kill off the "golden egg" millionaires, there will be LESS money to finance the gold-plated social programs they advocate. Now THAT's political genius! I'm tempted to help the Democrats make the truly wealthy a historical memory in America, if only to drive home the adage that "there's no such thing as a free lunch."
