U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering says his father, Judge Charles W. Pickering, is feeling the strain of his controversial judicial nomination, but that the principle of winning the battle outweighs personal considerations.
"In many ways, it's larger than him," Pickering said on Thursday. "It is about standing up to those groups who would make false charges, false allegations, that would misuse race to divide us."
