I'm in total agreement! I just don't want to see a possible reversabale error made by holding the trial in Modesto, if a change of venue takes care of the issue.
The last thing I want to see happen is a conviction thrown out for a technicality that could easily be prevented prior to the trial starting.
Most likely, they would have to retry the case, but, having shown all the cards, the defense is all the more prepared.
