2 Palestinians dead, Soldier wounded in clashes (UPDATE)

Two Palestinians were killed in clashes with the IDF routing terrorist strongholds in the territories Thursday, while a soldier was lightly wounded in one exchange of fire, military sources and reports said.

Troops shot and killed a Hamas man in the Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis where they arrested 29 terror suspects, including seven Hamas members, reports said. The man was shot while fleeing arrest, reports said.

In a separate raid in Gaza, four buildings used to store ammunition were destroyed in the southern town of Rafiah, military sources said.

Meanwhile, the IDF launched a new incursion into Jenin in response to intellgence information that another suicide bomb mission was being plotted there.

A gunman of the Tanzim, a militia linked to the ruling Fatah movement, was shot and killed after threatening the troops, the sources said. The gunman had an M-16 rifle and 10 ammunition clips, they said.

Later a Nahal soldier was lightly wounded by shrapnel during a firefight with terror suspects. He was treated at the scene.
