I remember reading that a search warrant is not required for LE to search and remove evidence from garbage. Does anyone know if this is true?

I can't quote the law or lack thereof. But it is true. Once you discard something it is no longer yours.

BTW, I always wondered what Scott was throwing way in those clips of him. I have to believe that LE went through his trash with a fine toothed comb.

Question: Are Laci's PERSONAL belongings (such as her wedding dress and jewelry, etc.) Scott's legal property?

I think you are correct.....curbside (garbage) is outside the private property rights of an individual.

Private or insurance investigators, not to mention LE, do this all the time.
