Nothing about this case makes much sense to me. I don't know anything about Jackie or her mental state, or her husband either. I'm sure they're on the defensive but they need to face reality too. The Rocha's were Conner's grandparents and their daughter-in-law's parents. You'd think that would matter for something. I never will figure people out. (Good thing I don't HAVE to, I guess.)

Report: Laci Peterson's Baby Had Noose Around Neck

12:59 p.m. CDT May 29, 2003

CHICAGO -- MSNBC reporter Dan Abrams said Thursday that he saw the autopsy photos of Laci Peterson and her unborn child, and the baby had a piece of plastic wrapped around his neck when the body was found.

The Many Faces Of Scott Peterson

It appeared to be a plastic noose around Conner's neck, Abrams said. A significant cut was also found on the baby's body, as well.

The defense has claimed that some sort of Satanic ritual may have been performed on Laci and the baby.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who represents Scott Peterson's former girlfriend Amber Frey, spoke on MSNBC Thursday morning and said that if the defense has a theory about another suspect, they should provide it to the prosecution. Allred said they should "put up or shut up." Allred also reminded viewers that the autopsy has not been released to the media and that the defense may have leaked it to the media to help their case.

Allred said she has her opinions, but it will be up to the jury to decide Peterson's guilt or innocence. She also said Frey has not taken a position on whether Peterson is guilty.

Abrams said he obtained the information from a portion of a follow-up coroner's report on Friday that was released to both the defense and prosecution.

It makes me wonder too. I've never seen any crying or much emotion coming from Jackie and family. Most everything I see and hear from them is all about Scott or themselves. Jackie will add "well, we loved Laci too" but again, with no emotion.
A parent will always defend their child and I would too but there comes a time when it ends. I don't expect them to accept his guilt...not ever. But I DO expect them to show sadness for their daughter-in-law and grandson. They are strange people and I don't understand them at all.
