I saw the picture of her and Bobby with Sharon. The clothing, more like costumes, they were wearing looked more Nation of Islam than Jewish. Farrakan hates Jews. Why would he be close to a group which claims to be a lost tribe?

The real African Jews believed to be a lost tribe are still in Africa. I've read a couple of stories about them. It's very interesting.

Do you mean the Ethiopian Jews? They were flown out of that country by the Israeli government (it was a difficult operation because surrounding countries are very hostile to Israel) and brought to live in Israel. They do face some racism, but their lives are much better than in Ethiopia.

Are you talking about the Beta Israel? They are the Ethiopian Jews who were rescued to Israel and I think their tradition is that they are the tribe of Dan.

I can't remember exactly. When were they flown out? I've seen one television documentary on them and read a couple of articles, one in National Geographic. I think one of the articles was on the group in Ethiopia. The ones in the National Geographic article are high priests who have guarded something very sacred for thousands of years, supposedly the Ark of the Covenant.

I think the lineage is supposed to come from an alleged son of King Solomon with the Queen of Sheba.

The TV show said another group, not in Ethiopia, has always claimed to be part of the lost tribe but that claim has never been proven. Some scientists went in and took DNA samples from them and compared them to Jewish rabbis in Israel. They had the same markers so it was proven in their case.

You confuse the Jews with the Christians who also have a long history in Ethiopia, back to the 4th century. The Jews go back 900 years or so before that. It is the Christians who claim they hold the Ark, that it was brought to Ethiopia when it disappeared from Israel. The Ethiopians trace their royal line to David through the Queen of Sheba(Saba-Yemen) which was off and on united with Ethiopia throughout history.

You may be right. One of the National Geographic articles was on an ancient Christian group in Ethiopia. They had pictures of tapestries and beautifully painted little Churches which were extremely old. I can't refer back to the articles because I only saved the artwork. I was impressed.

The TV documentary was definitely on a Jewish group though. I can't remember which country they were in but it wasn't Ethiopia. It was filmed within the last ten years.

There are Jews in Sudan also. At least some of the African Jews trace back to Jews who were imported, either by capture or by contract, to be guardians of the Nubian border area at a place called elephantine Island in the Nile River.
