Even though I am a masters student in technology, do you think I can do my thesis on Tom Daschle and why he is queer? I'll throw in that he is a sys admin too?

A doctoral candidate in Australia was paid $51,000 in public funds to research Jesus' sexuality, declaring unequivocally that the founder of Christianity was homosexual.

According to a report in the Adelaide Advertiser, Rollan McCleary, who himself is homosexual, earned $17,000 a year for three years to work on his thesis on homosexual spirituality. The grant came from the University of Queensland.

McCleary will be awarded his doctorate tomorrow and in the future hopes to make "gay spirituality" a separate academic discipline.

Besides determining the sexual orientation of Jesus, McCleary's research claims three or four of Christ's disciples also were homosexual.

"The starting point is the matter of John, who always referred to himself as Jesus' beloved disciple," McCleary told the Australian paper.

According to the Advertiser, he claims Jesus' astrological chart, clues in the Scriptures to which churches had been blind and accurate biblical translations all played a part in his conclusions.

McCleary also believes homosexuals find it easier to be Christian.

"You don't have to be gay to be Christian, but it would be easier," he told the paper.

The researcher says homosexuals are more inclined to be visionary and "open to the transcendent."

"If you assume that Christ was incarnate, there are perfect theological and mystical reasons to point to his sexuality," McCleary concluded.

McCleary says he is an Anglican and is described by the Advertiser as a "qualified reader of astrological charts."

WND spam alert. I bought Hugh Hewitt's The Embarrassed Believer through WND, and it now takes about 5 minutes each morning to delete the filth that just pours in over night.

Are you saying stupidity isn't newsworthy anymore?

Reminds me of a favorite saying of mine. "I'm of average intelligence. The problem is the vast majority of people around are below average."

My doctoral thesis was on how Lenin used to love eating feces. His favorite was feces and fried bananas. He really loved stewed feces, but his most favorite was eating feces as it was being dropped from a rectum. I got an "A".

yeah, that's the one I saw. I'll take the blame for forgetting that Newsmax just grabs someone else's story and runs it 15 minutes later without attribution.
