When was the last time you heard Dems say anything about sexual orientation of a candidate post primary? You don't, even in conservative states. They are capable of a lot of crappy things, but that hasn't historically been one of them.

These things usually occur in a whisper campaign, prior to the primary, benefitting a candidate without much appeal - sometimes originating from the Dem committees which want to manipulate the GOP electorate toward a particular candidate who they perceive as weak.

Democrat candidate for Senate Alex Sanders and Dem Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian, both of South Carolina, refute your particular point in #11.

Just look at mashed mouth Barney Frank if you have any question of the staying power of gays in elected office.

Basically, this proves the RAT Party is far more homophobic than the GOP will ever be.

Remember the 2000 election? Florida is NOT a conservative state! While North Florida and SW Florida are very conservative, and Central Florida is largely conservative (once you get away from the larger cities), South Florida is solidly socialist (with the exception of the Cuban exiles, but they are WAY outnumbered). And those three counties that make up S. Florida comprise 1/3 of the state population. Florida is as much of a toss-up state today as it was in 2000 - the only reason the Republicans so thoroughly dominate the state government is that the Rats here are so inept (think CA Repubs).

Another tidbit from the 2000 election - in the waning days of the campaign, the Gorons, sweating the bite that Ralph Nader was poised to take out of the dumb and lazy and dead voting blocs, started spreading rumors that Nader was gay. So yes, Rats are certainly capable of pulling this kind of garbage, and why shouldn't they be? They know the media will never call them on the staggering hypocrisy of it.

No offense, but you don't know what you're talking about.
The Herald is spinning the story. Foley was "outed" by a gay writer for an alternative press publication called the New Times. The article was posted on FR.

A week before the New Times article a lefty named writer Buddy Nevins wrote about Foley's "pro-gay" voting record for the Sun Sentinel and how a backlash may be coming from "anti-gay Conservatives".The article implied Foley was gay.

I'm a well connected Conservative activist in Palm Beach County and I can tell you without reservation it wasn't us that planted the story.

The NewTimes writer has admitted that his main source was a Democrat.

Local Conservatives don't talk to either Nevins or the New Times because they know whatever they say will be twisted. These guys are well known as haters of Conservatives. They have no Conservatives sources.

Why would the always play fair Dims do such a thing you cry?

Because they think he'll win the Senate seat and they're afraid, so they plant stories to try and derail his campaign and blame it on Conservatives.

Its called politics.

Politics is something posters on FR usually know something about.

That's the problem with "moderates". They always want to fight. They just don't want to fight the Democrats. They want to fight Conservatives.

Don't draw broad conclusions from a single article in a liberal newspaper.

A Freeper should know better.
