Why should I care who's responsible for Astroturf and how does that affect the foreign policy of this nation of states? However, since you asked

James M. Faria and Robert T. Wright of Monsanto Industries co-invented Astroturf (U.S. patent #3332828).

So James Faria and Robert Wright invented it. Again how does this matter?

"It has infected FR just as badly as FNC, too"

There was a time when the Admin Mods threw that kind of thread into the abyss of the General forum.

Fox couldn't get the cameras switched from Iraq to Modesta fast enough.

And I quit watching them just as fast.

They'll ban you in two minutes flat. They do not tolerate opposing viewpoints over there.

Who said anything about opposing viewpoints?

He he he..

After I got summarily banned, I felt like I needed to take a bath with a wire brush and some Clorox.
Thanks for the warning, I won't become a member of DU.

That's because you are equating Wilsonian idealist adventurism with today's war on terror and our national interest to destroy the regimes that could and would give the order to make 911 look like a picnic.

It's the truth.
That is one of the most vile & vulgar groups I've seen on the 'Net.

Sure, FReepers have their foibles and faults, but most of us can keep our discourse reasonably civil & clean.

Okay, what do you not understand about this? The 'war on terror' and almost, not all, every war since Wilson was created by Wilson's idealist adventurism in the first place. The causes may have changed over the years from 'to stop the tide' of whatever to 'spreading democracy' but the effects are the same

Except for some 'intelligence reports' which are questionable at best, there is no strong tie between Iraq and the terrorists. Yes, apparently there were some meetings. However if the thousands upon thousands of tons of WMDs existed, don't you think some of them would have found their way into the hands of terrorists by now?!? Heck, don't you think we would have found something besides two rigged up transfer truck rigs by now? You just can't hide tons of the stuff away

And all the while, the Saudis, our 'ally', continues to support terrorism and North Korea gets 40,000 tons of food a year for apparently doing nothing but building nuclear weapons. Who's doing the appeasement here?

You seem to make 2 arguments, correct me if I am wrong....
1. We shouldn't be fighting the war on terror
2. We are hitting the wrong targets or at least in the wrong order.

Do you see the inherent contradiction in between numbers 1 and 2?
