A better plan is to change the rules. This act of holding up the Senate to get what you want is disgraceful and has to be STOPPED!! NOW!!
If there was any doubt or a chance of waiting - this little act of BRIBERY will do the trick. Once again, the dems have out-foxed themselves - like Rush says, once again they have opened the door and slammed themselves right in the nose.

The Dems sure aren't shy about earning the "obstructionist" label. And then Tom Daschle decries the "shrill voices" who call them on it.

This should be interesting.

Those are the guys behind sending Elian back.
They co-own and operate a food processing plant in Cuba.

"Criminals in Texas often wait up to 20 years to exhaust death sentence appeals."You guys need a little help from Fidel!
From conviction, to Cuban Supreme Court appeal, to denial of the appeal, to execution----18 minutes in Cuba, for THREE convicts!
That's an amazing 6 minutes a piece.
Now, that's getting more efficient government for your tax dollar!

No can do.
Former Saddam officials are arriving in Cuba as we speak.
If people go, and they are a target for terrorism, then the Dems will have a field day.
The Democrats want that so they can set up the death of several Americans on Cuban soil and use it for the election.

They and Jake Reno worked 24/7 to get Elian back to Tio Fidel.
Fidel must have cashed in some credits with them or at least some photos of execs on R&R in Havana.

Sheesh, just a month after Castro executes 3 dissidents and already the pro-Communist crowd is demanding that Fidel be rewarded for his bad behavior.
How many innocents will he need to execute to get the rest of the Commies in America to give him even more rewards?

Castro's payroll remittances to our Senate must be comparable to Saddam's Parliamentary entries.
No doubt, the prep. is a 'RAT... :|

Th Democrats are holding up the appointment of damned near every single Hispanic nominated by Bush to any position in government.Yes they are, and you can be damned sure that if Frist caves on this and gives Baucus' "I Love Fidel!" bill a vote, the Rats will simply up their demands and continue to block Noriegas's nomination. What really disturbs me is that Baucus must feel he's got a pretty good shot at getting his bill passed by the Senate, otherwise he wouldn't be trying to pull this crap. Which simply begs the question - which of the RINO's are willing to sell the Cuban people down the river in order to demonstrate their fealty to Castro?
To: Luis Gonzalez
Baucus got $433,442 from Glacier PAC 2000-2002 per
this source.
Baucus is the 14th highest ranking recipient of the 535 members of Congress per Open Secrets:
14 Max Baucus (D-Mont) $1,803,999 88% PACS ~ 12% Individuals ~ Senate

The only travel restrictions to Cuba that should be lifted are stealth bombers with full bomb payloads flying over Havana. The planes should, of course, come back empty.

I cannot understand how Baucus keeps getting reelected. What am I missing? The Indian 'Vote'? They sure helped Johnson to win in South Dakota.
How many Indians are in Montana? 25,000? That should be good for 30,000 Democratic votes right there.

I think Frist should call his bluff, and give him his vote, followed by an immediate vote on Noriega.
It shouldn't take 15 minutes to dispatch this little bit of housekeeping, it will have the additional advantage of getting the pro-Castro crowd on record, yet again. And if the vote goes the wrong way, I agree with post #9; veto it.
