Some time later a police doctor gave the man, who has not been named, a blood test which showed the driver had seven times too much alcohol in his blood.

FYI, the BAC limit in the Netherlands is .05, bunch of pansies they are. It was only 35% alcohol in the blood. This guy doesn't compare to my neighbor in college, who obtained a police report from an incident where he had a .47 BAC. THe report was framed and hanging above his bar.

One night I was reading pop smears in the lab and the night tech came up all breathless and said to me, Dr Ballo - LOOK AT THIS. It was a readout from a lab analyzer showing a blood alcohol of .502 gm/dl. Not really believing it I had her dilute the sample 1:1 and repeat the test and it came up ... ... .252. I went over to the ER and there he was, not dead and not even unconscious. We watched him as this BAC slowly declined. That is my personal maximum - the original 1 proof man.
