what better advertisement for american business than the absolute failure of argentina?
at the turn of the 18-19th c's, argentina was UP there with canada, the u.s., australia, as a future major economy. it had everything the u.s. had--large ranches, rich farmland, minerals, and an educated, european workforce (lots of english, italians, and germans).
what happened? the old mediterranean spanish culture demolished it.
