When James Woolsey was wounded during a Navy battle in World War II, other sailors told him that he wouldn't survive.
"We went from ship to ship, place to place, and after I was wounded, I came back to California half-dead," said Woolsey, who turns 103 on Aug. 7. "They said that my days were numbered, and here it is at 102 years old, and they ain't numbered yet."
