The Democrats would wait for the nuclear explosion to happen before believing that we should do something. It is better to act on credible threats than on absolute devastation.

Is it "hype" to find that worst-case scenarios didn't come to be, while "likely" scenarios still remain true? I don't think so.

The Democrats would wait for the nuclear explosion to happen before believing that we should do something.

And then if it were to actually happen, they would be the first and the loudest to gripe about why didn't we act pre-emptively in order to prevent this from happening.
