Still not a peep about the possible savings of billions of taxpayer dollars by eliminating the "free everything" to illegal aliens. Does anyone else find this strange? Wouldn't this ordinarily be a common sense solution to at least part of the huge deficit? Cowardly politicians, all.

How do you know for certain that California is on the verge of bankruptcy?

When the SJMN allows a conservative viewpoint to be published on its web site.

When this same article appears in their print edition you know California only has about 12 more hours of solvency.

No liberal publication will go down with the ship. They will all say "I told you so" and point to this article with pride.

What's lacking is a proposal to reduce taxes in three steps: abolish the income tax, abolish business license fees, and eliminate property taxes on senior citizens' homes. Taken together, these proposals will reduce the size of government by substantially reduce the amount of money it takes in and hinder the establishment of new government programs. The California Republican Party needs to do more than just hold the line on spending. Its needs to make the case for letting people keep more of what they earn so they can make ends meet and live the good lives they deserve for themselves and their families.
