Scheer tells me all I need to know about local tax advocates.
The Oregonian almost had me convinced. In this Sunday's commentary section. I waded soberly through the first two articles telling me how proud I should be for swallowing a local tax increase that, although it might break this family's budget, is surely good for the County. Then I get to Robert Scheer's propaganda. One week after its original publication (seven days of discrediting), the original editorial has been exposed as nothing more than hateful propaganda from enemies at the BBC (the same BBC that refuses now to defend its own story) and predictably regurgitated by an anti-American communists at the Los Angeles Times. Our friends at the Oregonian saw fit to treat us to this package of lies about the United States Military on this Memorial Day weekend with fears for our families weighing heavy on our hearts and the sour taste of new taxes in our mouths. It is absolutely despicable. The rest of the Commentary Section proved even less impressive (yet similarly spiced), from hand-picked letters of congratulations to the bigoted rantings of Mrs. Ivins, the Oregonian is clearly exposing itself as the leftist, collectivist, propagandist rag that so many good publications in this nation have become. Some soul searching is in order for the editors of the Oregonian. Blair and Scheer have forced it on the New York and Los Angeles Times, CNN is reeling from its own guilt, Hollywood is threatened at its box offices, and television networks are turning from reality reporting to reality game shows. Is it any wonder that AM radio, syndicated talk shows, internet blogs, and alternative publications have risen to fill the gap in the market of truth that is overtly absent in national communities like Portland? The reality of local fiscal responsibility was like bland pavlum - distasteful but fundamentally necessary. The challenges of local budgetary mismanagement are the problem of Portland taxpayers and not a burden for Oregon citizens to bare. Even this conservative taxpayer must acknowledge that. And yet, the Oregonian rendered its viewpoint on the entire subject, suspect with the subsequent Scheer article.
Thank you for demonstrating yourselves to be something significantly less than relevant when it comes to the dissemination of facts... and reminding Oregonians to go out and buy another carton of salt for the rest of the year to come.
If I recall correctly he also falls into the category of "won't do it" regarding repeated invitations to come on the radio with Larry Elder.
...sure wish we could get Larruh out here in the Coachella Valley!...also John and Ken.
Correct; one can pick up KFI on a car radio, but it seems once you get out of the "flats" (as in going into La Quinta where I live and work), nada! KFI scratches and fades away...
