Great article.
I think journalists should write more about our successes, as this article does.

Excellent piece -- it's a classical investigation where one lead gives you ten more, and so on. Fine - keep rolling!
I can hardly wait to see the Letters to the Editor about the poor inmates at Camp X-Ray, asking for a UN investigation into the inhumane interrogations in Jordan and Pakistan, etc. Which Senator will be the first to make these type of comments?

In Jordan, the CIA uses a special center at the country's remote al Jafr Prison, where it has shipped up to 100 al Qaeda suspects for initial interrogations (box, Page 22).Here is that article

"Nothing emboldened al Qaeda more than us not going after them," BTW, not my bumper sticker, found it here on Freep. Seemed appropriate, though.

Saw the movie. Liked it.

> The Arab fighter had come to Gitmo, as the base is called, weighing a bare 66 pounds last year. He had shrapnel wounds, suffered from tuberculosis, and had lost a lung. Army Maj. Gen. Michael Dunlavey vividly remembers his first encounter with "Bob." Dunlavey ran interrogations at the base until November of last year. By the time they met, Bob was making a rapid recovery. He had put on 50 pounds and, sitting across a table from Dunlavey, he thanked him for the food and medical treatment. "General, you are probably a good Christian," Dunlavey recalls him saying. "And
you are probably a good man. But if I ever get free, I will kill you."Only Satan could inspire those words.

Good article, thanks.
Hope I live long enough to see all the details of this war declassified and put in book form by a great writer. I can tell it'll be one of the most enjoyable and riveting books I've ever read.
"But when you want to interrogate a fundamentalist, it is not easy to get into his mind when he considers you an infidel . . ."
Easy solution . . . Confuscius say, turn Abdullah into a big fat infidel . . .
"Abdullah, sweetie . . . Now, if you don't want to spend any more time with your head held under water, you WILL look into that there camera over there, you WILL crap on this here Koran, you WILL curse Allah's name, you WILL piss on Mohammad's memory, and you WILL drink this here big glass of pig piss, blood and poop -- five times every day, for the rest of your life. Got me, sweetie? . . . Or . . . We can hold your head under water again. Your choice. I guarantee you, Abdullah will become the biggest infidel you've ever met and will eagerly spill his guts, infidel to infidel (you just won't want to have him over for dinner, what with all that pig piss, blood and poop on his breath).

This much is clear: America waited too long to join the fray...Now, which President can be fingered for this little oversight?

One side effect of nailing most of A-Q's senior leadership is that the remaining terrorists are allowed to bomb Saudi Arabia and Morrocco because they have no adult supervision. This annoys the locals and alienates their affections away from A-Q.
