Libertarian may run again

HELENA -- Libertarian Stan Jones of Bozeman said Tuesday he is strongly considering running for governor next year.

"I'm going to do a little more exploring," he said. "Right now, all indications are that I will run. I need to see how much support I can get."

He ran as a Libertarian candidate for governor in 2000, getting 2 percent of the vote, and as the party's standard-bearer for the U.S. Senate in 2002, polling 3 percent, despite spending very little money.

Jones gained national attention as a U.S. Senate candidate in 2002 because his skin had turned blue-gray. Jones began taking colloidal silver, a natural anti-bacterial of silver, in 1999 because he feared the disruptions from Y2K might put the supplement in short supply because of what some feared would be a worldwide disruption of computer systems.

Jones said he hopes he will be able to participate in all televised debates.

As much as it pains me to say it, I gotta give you the Stan Jones thing.

The LPUSA is a pretentious fraud, imo. It's not a real Party, at all, merely a faction with a hobby.

OTOH, on a local level, the clear 'small l' libertarian logic on taxation and bureaucracy gains incremental traction. That's probably the best libertarians can do independently.

On a national level, there is NO sense in empowering the Dems at the expense of the Republicans, no matter how oily the b*stards can be.

The alternative, some RINO's butts kicked and enough Democrats elected to give them complete power, is too appalling to consider.

That's it, Roscoe, you have your one good point; but you must admit Mr. Jones is sui generis. ;^)

Like him I am doubtful,
That your love is true;
So if you decide to call on me,
Ask for Mr. Blue...

How ironic he represents the Libertarian Party

I'd rather be represented by Jones than by this guy:

Thanks for the bio. Unlike most Repugnantcans, Jones has a stellar military and business background.

I'm puzzles as to why he took colloidal silver, however.

I'm not a Libertarian but your post #9 is the same old haughty, New York Timesesque-smugness that Republicans use when they lose close elections.

Shame on us for not voting for your pathetic RINOs. What are you gonna do now, send us to our rooms for a time-out?

Carefully notice above, no rational reasons stated, no valid arguments, just school-yard childishness. My post stated reasons and facts. You LP sympathizers and adherents don't have anything to counter the solid arguments for conservatives to vote LP. A vote for an LP candidate helps the Dem, period. The Dem is different from the Republican, period. Any person who sees the Dems and GOP as identical has flawed perceptions, period.

The LP is not a conservative party; otherwise, it would work for conservative victories, not for the enemy of conservatives, the Dems. Sorry if that is something that LP followers cannot grasp, but I cannot in good conscience vote LP, knowing what the result will be, more Dems in ofc. And in last year's elections, there was a deliberate policy by the LP to work for the defeat of GOP candidates. No sale.....
