I've been reading a little about the raccoon dogs.

If they "can" spread SARS they'll be a problem.

It looks like they are wild and hunted over a good part of Asia and Europe besides being raised for food and pelts.

One article I read said they live well in the wild near human habitation and like to raid garbage,etc. around settled areas.

Thank you politicians who are more worried about short-term economic consequences instead of doing the right thing.
