As has been the pattern throughout the Laci Peterson case, there are days when there is little or no new information and then days when there seems to be an avalanche of new developments. Friday the floodgates opened.Sources on both sides of the case confirmed to KTVU that Scott Peterson had "some sort relationship" with two women other than Amber Frey, although they would not go as to call them girlfriends.
The defense also was going to ask the judge in the case for a speedy trial and force a preliminary hearing within 10 days, telling KTVU that they would present "compelling evidence" at that hearing that would show that Scott Peterson did not kill his wife and unborn son.
In Los Angeles, meanwhile, KNBC-TV and Fox News was reporting that an unidentified woman was providing the Peterson defense team with crucial information that may lead to the "real killers" of Laci and her unborn son, Connor.
The woman reportedly alleges that the deaths are linked to a satanic or cult killing and that "crazies" were involved.
