There are always jackboot licking licking cowards on these threads.
I tend to think some of them are not jackboot licking cowards. I think some of the FR Statist Club are actually paid government shills and agent provacators(sic).

You are clearly not the only one. There are numerous well trained individuals who would resist an that resistance would make the price too high to pay. What many do not realize is that if the Warsaw Ghetto uprising had been repeated in every nation occuppied by the Germans the round up by the Einsatzgruppen would not have continued. Germany could not afford the troops and equipment. The decision to use gas chambers was made becacuse the cost of bullets was too high crematoria were created becuase open burning of the bodies required too many trees.
If the cost will icnlude some of the senior members of the tyrants entourage and the essential supporters then before they make the decision they may reconsider.

That's the point of my book, to clearly lay out the consequences in the hope that our would-be commissars reconsider, in the knowledge that they personally would not be safe.
All the attention on telegenic "assault weapons" tells me they don't really get it. If they did, they would be more worried about "sniper rifles" AKA grandpa's .270 Winchester.

All the attention on telegenic "assault weapons" tells me they don't really get it. If they did, they would be more worried about "sniper rifles" AKA grandpa's .270 Winchester. In fact, I expect to see more casualties from .22 rifles and shotguns, particularly cutdown versions, than anything else.
And once the penalties for possession of weapons reaches those for using them, they might as well be used. I don't cost nothing more, and after the first one, all the rest are free.

As Sophocles wrote well over 23 centuries ago :
Far-stretching, endless Time,br> Brings forth all hidden things,
And buries that which once did shine.
The firm resolve falters, the sacred oath is shattered;
And let none say, "It cannot happen here".
Not too much new under the sun...we are left to remain ever vigilant.

I also found Travis comments about tyrants crossing the Rubicon interesting in that it was Julius Ceaser's crossing of the Rubicon that that immediate led to the end of the Roman Republic and the start of the Roman Empire. Julius followed by Octavius Augustus, folowed by Tiberias, followed by Calligula followed by Cladius followed by Nero. All tyrants and all evil with the possible exception perhaps of Claudius who I would describe as a more benevolent tyrant.
The founders knew the history of Greece and Rome. They knew the history of Switzerland and the British Empire along with Colonial history. That is among the reasons why the anti-federalists demanded a Bill of Rights and among the reaons for the rights so enumerated.

"That possibility was considered by several senior US military officers during the last election, as was the possibility that the sitting president might declare the election results null and void by executive fiat before a final court decision was announced. Accordingly, appriopriate precautions were taken." - Archy
Thanks for the post. Where can I read about what precautions were taken by whom?
Is there anything in the public domain?
We talking TSCI?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the post. Where can I read about what precautions were taken by whom? Some fairly senior officers, to include Code 9 and 8, at least, down to and including at least some company grade unit leaders, who took their oaths to the constitution more seriously than they did the usual ticket-punching and scramble for paychecks and another accompanied tour. I don't think there's much in print, but I'll nose around and see what's to be found.
Is there anything in the public domain?
There might be something show up in some memoirs, and maybe some stories might get told posthumously.
We talking TSCI?
We're talking individuals very familiar with TCSI and deniable operations, but with a need to prepare for contingencies way outside earlier precedent, and not necessarily willing to accept a declaration by a politicized FEMA as to the legitimacy of a particular claimed national command authority over another. Accordingly, communication outside PRBAC became a matter of face-to-face contact and hand-delivered messages transferred via courier, rather than risking electronic interception. The sources of funding involved is an even better area for question, but I not only don't know, I don't want to know, though I have a guess or two.
But some of those following individual careers, particularly in the aftermath of the ongoing exercises in Iraq, may note a few odd spikes in otherwise usually progressing career path steppingstones.
Thanks in advance,
I don't think there's much that can be said at this time. But I'll see what can be found.

I will never be led like a lamb to the slaughter, because in a moment of foolish naive hope I allowed myself to be disarmed by a seemingly well-meaning government turned tyrant. You're not the only one. "Better dead than red" as the saying went....
And any government that attempts to disarm it's citizens (who are the sole source of that government's authority) is no better than the communist dictatorships during the cold war. The name may change, but the "command and control" aspect of it does not.
And if the people allow themselves to be disarmed similar results will follow. It's not a matter of conjecture, it's a simple fact of history.
The constitution shredding commissars in waiting had better understand: cross that Rubicon and they will be in the crosshairs, personally.
They really have no idea how many Americans are prepared for that.

I hope my book was written well enough as a novel to "cross over" to a mainstream audience.
The commissars in waiting need to hear the warning, and ponder its meaning to them.

It's going to be interesting to watch what happens if they try to institute a ban on so-called assault weapons, nationwide. They might get away with it in a few states, but it will be a declaraion of war in many regions.
