I was making a lighthearted response to another comment. Read the whole thread.

Sad they can't just admit she can play this game better than most men. Nobody denies that

NO, I am taking potshots at people who have been bashing this lady all week, claiming up and down she can't play golf, which is a demonstrably idiotic thing to say.
The fact is no matter how well she plays, there will still be those who will come up with excuses "oh, she won't be able to do that on a 'REAL' course" etc etc... And that's certainly what it sounds like you are doing.
For what the last 1-2 weeks every knuckle dragger on FR has been popping off on how she can't play, she doesn't have the power, she'll make a fool of herself, Women don't belong on the PGA etc...
They have offered up nothing but excuses on why she can't handle it. That she'd not beat 80 in her first round, shes a joke.... yadda yadda yadda...
Well, frankly she's been playing very respectable golf, and you are right, it isn't even through 1 round yet, but already the excuses are coming out on why she could never do this on the whole tour! What nonsense... I just fail to understand the anomosity some here are venting against this woman.
She is unquestionably one of the best women golfers alive today, and she's getting a chance to play among the best men alive today, and she's holding her own. Why is this such a threatening thing? What is so hard to at least accept that perhaps THE BEST WOMEN IN A GAME OF SKILL ARE ON PAR WITH THE BEST MEN?????
Seems you don't even want to give her a chance, and even if she played won the whole damn thing I think you or others like you would be popping off with the excuses, oh it was just a short course, she could never hang in the tour etc etc.
How she does overall in this tournament will be seen, she might fall apart, she might win the whole thing, most likely it will be somewhere in between. However stating that her ability displayed here is a product soley of the course and she couldn't "hang" on the rest of the tour is simply nonsense.
She's played a few holes well, and you couldn't wait to state she could never handle the tour... seems to me people like that deserve the pot shots they get.

"Which side does Anna "swing" from. (wink, wink)"
She's married. Now, that doesn't guarantee anything, but it's a pretty good indication. Which side do you swing from? Do we care?

25ft BIRDIE putt comingSh'll need to get them closer to have realistic birdie opportunities.

Well, she's only missing them by inches, but you're right.
To: 1Old Pro
A "safe" 25 ft birdie chance is better than her going directly for the pin, and missing the green altogether. You gotta give yourself chances, and she will eventually sink one of those 25 footers.

Freepers have critiqued her attire, accused her of steroids, found her mustache today. Sad they can't just admit she can play this game better than most men. Absurd. The recurring theme in this thread has been supportive of her play, and critical of the circus surrounding it. Everyone here knows she could mop the floor with him/her. Try reading BEFORE you post.

You are wrong. And now I am stating fact. Name one sport where the best women would beat the best men any more than once in a hundred. Ice skating doesn't count!
And stop hyperventilating and accusing me of things you really should be directing at other posters who obviously bothered you. Are you sure you're a man?

"Sh'll need to get them closer to have realistic birdie opportunities.

Well, she's -1 so far. Doing pretty well, I think. Certainly a lot better than a lot of folks here predicted. Sheesh! She's one of the top women players. Looks to me like a lot of Freepers didn't know that. Of course she's doing OK.

I'm not watching the tourney, but I'm assuming she has these long birdie putts because she is going for the fat part of the green.
