I would expect there are some parlimentary maneuvers your General Assembly can put together to scoop money from budget bills he's already signed into law.

Both are in our control but the gov is a demoncrat and is playing his games with our budget. He has refused to help the lawmakers in trimming the budget and is now asking for a public vote for more taxes. This is the same administration that denied that it had instructed dept heads to discourage its employees from cooperating with lawmakers in cutting costs. They denied it until a memo from a dept head was produced saying that it was a firing offense to cooperate with the lawmakers. Then they claimed it was just a misunderstanding.

If it's any consolation, Iowa isn't in much better shape. They are being called back into a Special on the 29th of this month, with no agreement to do anything.

The D Governor wants $800 Million to jump start the economy. The state is broke, so he wants to bond for the money. Debt is debt, regardless of the interest rate.

Sounds like the late Dem Socialist Governor of Florida, Lawton Chiles, when confronted with a Republican legislature from 1996-1998. Thankfully, the good people of Florida corrected their mistake by electing Jeb after ol' Walkin' Lawton kicked the bucket in '98.
