Does MO have a line item veto? It appears your Gov is playing games.
I would expect there are some parlimentary maneuvers your General Assembly can put together to scoop money from budget bills he's already signed into law.
Do R's have control of both your house and senate?

Both are in our control but the gov is a demoncrat and is playing his games with our budget. He has refused to help the lawmakers in trimming the budget and is now asking for a public vote for more taxes. This is the same administration that denied that it had instructed dept heads to discourage its employees from cooperating with lawmakers in cutting costs. They denied it until a memo from a dept head was produced saying that it was a firing offense to cooperate with the lawmakers. Then they claimed it was just a misunderstanding.

YES, first time in about 50 years.

If it's any consolation, Iowa isn't in much better shape. They are being called back into a Special on the 29th of this month, with no agreement to do anything.
The D Governor wants $800 Million to jump start the economy. The state is broke, so he wants to bond for the money. Debt is debt, regardless of the interest rate.

Thankfully, the good people of Florida corrected their mistake by electing Jeb after ol' Walkin' Lawton kicked the bucket in '98.

Lived in Florida from 1990-1994 (the "Nightmare Years") and again from 1999-2002 (the Republican domination/liberation).
Now I'm back in NY, where the RINO State Senate overwhelmingly passed the biggest tax increase in state history!
