I haven't watched any of this, but I took a straw poll at a meeting today and Clay was the clear favorite.

Can I vote for myself? On Arrakis, I'm an idol. ;-)

I thought Clay nailed it last night. I've often thought that he's been trying too hard and over vocalizing, but last night put me firmly in his camp. His rendidtion of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" was the best I'd ever heard. Bar none! I wasn't crazy about the original song he sung but I was knocked out at how he sung it.

Ruben, IMO, was just awful last night. His version of "A House is Not a Home" was really bad, but "Imagine" was terrible.

I thought all along that it would be Reuben. However, based on last nights performance I'd be surprised if Clay doesn't take it out.

I'm in CA and since I want to be surprised I'll have to stay away from the net and tv news for a while.
Go Clayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Does the apparent success of this show mean that we are going to see another "American Idol" series with a whole new cast of aspiring singers?

If I am voting on last nights performance, it is Reuben by a nose..Clay's showmanship is bit over the top for me

Reubens soul style is genuine and should be rewarded for his performance throughout the competition. (and all three judges would probably agree)

That said-- it is a shame someone has to lose, both are so great!

Clay!! Clay! I picked Clay the first time he sang. I was shocked when he was bumped. But I am not shocked he got back in the game because that young man has talent.

I keep hearing that Reuben is a lock. Either way, it's hard for me to get excitred about this AI- I guess I never got over my disappointment when Tamayra was voted out of the last AI. She was robbed!

I'm not trying to "start anything" with this question but there is a debate raging among some people I know: is Clay straight, or gay? Anyone?

I'm rooting for the fat boy,he has the better voice and personality,on another note the CMA is on a competing channel and the Dixie Hicks are making an appearance.

It's CLAY all the WAY!!!! We voted for him for the last several weeks, he has really come into his own and his a much better performer than Ruben. Ruben's songs all sound the same and Clay does each one with it's own interpretation. His last song last night really won this for him!!
