Man, I'm never going to get to the end of this thread if I don't stop responding to queries!
I'm hypoglycemic. Have been for years. The best thing about Atkins is that it has stopped the spikes, and therefore, the drops.
To someone who said they have to eat something mid-afternoon, and the other poster who said they do Atkins at lunch to stop the afternoon snoozies - that's the key. I remember eating half a bagel with tuna for lunch, and being literally knocked out 45 minutes later. It wasn't that I was sleepy, it was that I had to lie down because I was "going out" for 10 minutes. Second time it happened, the bagel disappeared from my lunch - and I began to suspect carbs as a problem for me. They were, they are, they always will be.
The best thing about Atkins is the "even keel" it keeps your blood sugar on. I never experience the urge to binge, have to eat something, or want something I think I really want. It's the best thing - to never be hungry, but also to never think I have to eat something because it is yelling my name!
