Neither party can deviate too far from the center of the electorate without being marginalized

When a conservative can set his election agenda on a solid gay rights base and win, the fix is in. The gays are around 1% of the voting base at best. But the Gay agenda is part of the Global agenda. The nice part of the Matrix, is the sleepers begin to awake.

I don't think that the gay rights agenda is favored by the majority of American voters, and I don't think the GOP should pander to that small segment of the vote. Nothing requires the parties to choose every policy position wisely, but over time, the electorate tends to get its way.
