Germany Calls for Stronger Europe Defense

"BERLIN (AP) - Germany unveiled its first new military strategy in 11 years Wednesday, calling for stronger European defense capabilities while saying that the United States remains ``indispensable'' for Europe's security."

In other words, they want the United States to continue paying for their defense.

Muslims for starters! Did you ever hear about the Moors in History class? The Moors used to own a large chunk of Europe, and History may be trying to repeat itself.

This time the Moors will reach Orleans only to find all the inexpensive housing is already occupied by Arabs on welfare.

I'm hoping the Moors kick off their invasion in Kalifornia. They'd be so disgusted that they'd probably end the invasion, then turn around and go back home!

This is ridiculous.
Europe does not in foreseeable time face an invasion by armies. Every joint muslim army trying to take Europe would take a bloody nose. Don´t you think if REALLY attacked from the outside that the Germans could produce a capable army like we have done so many times before in our history? We already have the world´s best tank. The problem we facing is internal - if it was for me I would really be watchful of all the muslim extremists already IN Europe.

If your German military is so vastly superior why does the United States have soldiers on German soil? Why can't you defend yourselves?

A couple of years ago I didn't think the Muslims represented much of a threat. The fact is that Muslims hate all Westerners (Europeans and Americans), and Western democracies. Muslims want to destroy our countries, and either force us to convert to Islam, or kill us. Wait until Germany has it's own September 11th. You may come to see things differently.

Don't know if they're still patroling the East Coast, but the last German (NATO) AWACS crews left Tinker AFB here in OK shortly before Christmas.

a) You want(ed) them to be here.
b) Because it is really nice for the Germans they are/were here - why pay for defense if the Americans do it? It is not that I am too glad of this, but it is the truth.

Just because I am German does not mean I see things so different than you guys, I am all with you in the fight against terrorism and I am one of the last persons to have to be convinced that muslim extremism is a bad thing (check out my personal page). I for one don´t need a German 9/11, sadly many Germans seem to do so (I hope there never will be one). They don´t seem to get that muslim extremists target ALL Western nations.

The other thing is that I am willing to defend my country in this forum. Please don´t mix the two up.

Who on earth would want them? What would anyone get if they invaded europe? A bunch of whining pantywaists who are only willing to work 32 hours a week and demand 5 weeks a year in vacation. They are about to hit the demographic wall with a population who expect to retire at 55 with a full pension.

The only fight I see in the future is an internal one between the Islamists who are demanding welfare and the europeans who are demanding to be supported during their retirement.

I understand your inclination towards defending your country. I will also defend my country. I'm glad to know that you're not one of those Europeans that is blind to the growing threat to the West that is posed by Islam.

Personally, I supported having American troops in Europe in the days of the Soviet Union. Now that the threat of Communism is diminished, I think America should bring all of it's troops home from Europe, and politely ask all of the NATO troops stationed here in America to leave. Sorry, but I don't think America should be paying to defend Germany. The German people are perfectly capable of doing that themselves.

I absolutely share your point of view here. Just, as long as the Americans don´t leave, why should the Germans pay money themselves? So I appreciate you leaving (not out of Anti-Americanism that is).
