The modern woman, through the mechanism of the sexual revolution, has been indoctrinated to believe that the mindless pursuit of copulation is the road to enlightenment.

I would correct this to read "...has been indoctrinated to believe that the mindless pursuit of copulation is the achievment of enlightenment."

Great article.

I liked the part about men=jobs...women=careers.

Males have always, and will always, prefer younger and more fertile females to older ones and the pursuit of fertility is a noble (not shallow) reason for why we select the women that we do.

Hear Hear!!!...and a heartfelt thanks to my wife!

"Marry young, then spend your best years squirting out babies" makes sense if you live on an underpopulated frontier or the author's metaphorical Russian landscape devastated by war. but when the population is already high. a lot of people are going to decide that a life of bearing chilren is less important. When my wife and I were single we spent our yonger years playing the field. We married when I was 31 and she was nearing 40. After that we enjoyed the best years of our lives, and in the company of cats instead of children.

To begin with, the show's producers are both admittedly gay males and it is my belief that this program is far more indicative of gay male sexuality than it ever will be of female sexuality.

Or to quote The Simpsons, "We're watching Nookie in New York, that show about 4 single women who sit around talking like gay men."

By the time she reaches 35 that same elite German Panzer has turned into a wasted carcass on the Kursk battlefield.

Dang! Where was this info when I was a Panzer? What does he make of a woman over 40?

You don't have to be single to run into these problems. My niece and two of her closest friends are encountering problems having their first child after a dozen years or more of marriage. Thirty-five plus is not the best time to start having a family.

In the "Zeroes"? Where does this writer live? Where I am, and from everything I read and hear, people have to come to call this decade the "00s," pronounced "ohs." After a couple of years of uncertainty, that seems to be the pronunciation that's settling in.

The 20-year-old female is like the German Panzer of 1941 as it rolls triumphantly through the Russian steppes. Everyone and everything bows before its tread. ... By the time she reaches 35 that same elite German Panzer has turned into a wasted carcass on the Kursk battlefield. It can be seen belching black smoke into the Russian night from 10 miles away (or perhaps therapeutically buying 400 dollar shoes at a New York boutique).

Not a good idea to write about sex when you've got war on your mind, Bernie. Or vice versa.
