THE alleged mastermind of the Bali bombings today admitted he was a killer.
Imam Samudra, 33, spoke while being escorted back to his cell under guard after an interrogation session in Bali's capital Denpasar.
In footage shown on the Channel Ten, that translated his remarks, Samudra said "Don't forget terrorist country Indonesia", and "I am killer, killer".
Samudra's trial, expected to begin shortly, will be the second to get under way involving the 33 suspects being held over the bombings.
A total of 202 people died in the blasts, including 88 Australians.
The trial of Amrozi bin Nurhasyim, 40, began on May 12 before five judges of the Denpasar District Court.
Adjourned for a week, it resumed yesterday and was put off again until Thursday.
A case against 33-year-old Samudra, whose birth-name is Abdul Aziz, was being completed by prosecutors.
Police allege Samudra, a computer engineer from West Java, confessed to planning and helping to set off the three explosions, two on the Kuta Beach nightclub strip and one at the US Consulate.
Prosecutors today delayed handing their brief of evidence against Samudra to the court and said they expected to hand it over later in the week.
Ten also aired footage of Amrozi in which he said he did not regret his role in the Bali bombings.
"I'm happy, why should I regret it," Amrozi said today.
Ten also reported that in another veiled threat Amrozi said Westerners would be the ones to regret it.
Meanwhile, Denpasar District Court chief judge Made Karna reportedly assured Australians that the Amrozi case would not be thrown out on Thursday when he delivers his ruling on a point of law.
