I don't think any conservative has a problem with gays voting republican. What we do not want is to pander to them to get the votes. In other words, let's not abandon our principles to get some of the votes of 1% of the population.

We do not want: more hate crime laws, more discrimination laws, or laws/regulations promoting the teaching of homosexuality in schools.

If gay people are conservative, they should support conservatives based on conservative principles. If we have to buy gay support, we don't want it. I think that is the message we ought to stick to.

..and conservative gay people should feel good about the fact that the GOP is willing to dialogue and reach out to other "gays" who might disagree with them, rather than banish the thought of any dialogue with them in the name of "family values".
